Late Night Consoling
- As several sites are reporting (here's PS2.IGN's news item on the subject), THQ has bought Rainbow Studios, the developers of a number of console titles. No word as to what, if any affect this will have on Rainbow's animation studio, which has been developing the CGI adventure film Blue Planet for several years now.
- GameSpot continues to review the GameCube launch titles...tonight they have reviews of Luigi's Mansion and Super Monkey Ball.
- Here's some more reviews: The GIA has reviewed Kessen II and Dragon Warrior VII, Cinescape has their first look at Rogue Leader online, as does Planet GameCube, and Team Xbox has posted their impressions of Project Gotham Racing.
- Also at The GIA is the news that Lunar: Silver Star Story is being ported to the Game Boy Advance. Frankly, I think I'd prefer a new game over a port.
- According to Video-Senki, Tecmo is suing a company that released a patch for Dead or Alive 2 that made all the characters naked.
Console Game of the Evening: Earthworm Jim for the Genesis and SNES. This is one of my favorite games of all-time, but the lack of any save function keeps me from playing it as often as I'd like. Still, it's dazzlingly original, and the graphics and animation are still top-notch despite its age.
