Fun! AMD has filed legal action attempting to get some confidential documents about Intel's business practices. Specifically how Intel handles PC makers that do not cooperate with Intel. Apparently Intel had experts testify divulging some practices in a court case with Intergraph. Those documents are of course sealed. Everyone here knows though that if Intel doesnt get what they want from a PC manufacturer, much like any large company they will just say "oooh, oh well. thanks anyways though!" right?
Last October, AMD and Via Technologies brought an action before the European Commission concerning Intel's business practices. The companies alleged that Intel holds a monopoly in the microprocessor business and that it has engaged in "abusive" marketing practices. If found liable, Intel could face a fine equal to 10 percent of its sales.
Here's the bigger question... will this make CPU prices drop? :)
