Intel Close with 2Ghz

15

Acording to The Inquirer we will soon see the 2Ghz Pentium 4. The part should ship this month, and should cost somewhere around $565. If that's too much it'll cost you $260 for the 1.8Ghz and $375 for the 1.9Ghz version. The same Inquirer story also has pricing info for the new Pentium 3.

right on, im gonna put about $3500 back in the bank, then when D3 goes gold, buy the most powerful CPU on the market(AMD no intel crap).

you never know, intel could have a nice p4/ddr combo that beats even amds best by then.

unlikely. The PIV's depend highly on rambus's design. I'm talking out of my ass because We have no idea yet, but the naysayers say the two are tied together pretty nicely....

The RAMBUS contract will expire soon. That means a DDR chipset will be likely by Intel. RAMBUS is meant for highend machines not a budget system.

actually no, from what I hear the P4 will really go well with a DDR chipset.

but then again amd has dual channel ddr with the nforce.
