Vesper’s Host is the dungeon included with the Destiny 2: Revenant release. This dungeon launched in October 11, 2024, and tasked players with venturing back to Europa to take on a familiar location reminiscent of the Deep Stone Crypt. This Vesper’s Host walkthrough will guide you through the entire dungeon, explain encounter mechanics, and ideal boss DPS options.
Vesper’s Host is the first dungeon in Destiny 2 history to include a Contest Mode that is available for the first 48 hours on its release on October 11, 2024. After the first three teams cleared the dungeon on Contest Mode, the Normal Mode was made available. Any player that completes the dungeon on Contest Mode will receive the Orbital Tournament emblem.
In order to be ready for the dungeon, players will need to be at 1985 Power in order to be at the level cap for all encounters. Take a look at our max Power guide for information on the Power grind.
Take a look at our live blog who is winning the Vesper's Host World First race.
You must have the Rogue Network quest from Spider in order to start Vesper’s Host. Spider is currently available in the Last City social hub. With the quest in your inventory, you will be able to launch the dungeon.
The goal of the Activation encounter is to find and activate panels using the Scanner and Operator buffs. Activating a correct set of panels will cause nuclear cores to drop, which must be returned to the starting room. You must bring back three nukes from three different rooms to complete the encounter.
Start the encounter by interacting with the sphere in the middle of the room. Kill enemies until the Viral Carrier approaches, this is just the indicator that an enemy carrying a buff has appeared. Defeat it, grab the Scanner buff, and head down the open hallway to the first room, killing foes that get in your way. Another Viral Carrier will appear in the hallways, this time holding the Operator buff.
The Scanner and Operator buffs work similarly to how they do in the Deep Stone Crypt raid and Operation: Seraph’s Shield. The Operator holder is able to shoot panels to active them. Scanner lets a player see panels on their radar, allowing them to discern which ones must be shot – if a panel disappears from your radar, it is dangerous and must not be shot. You must get in close proximity to the panel to identify whether it is safe.
When the correct panels are activated by the Operator holder, a nuclear core will coalesce and appear in the bucket. Pick it up and carry it back to the main room. Holding the nuke will apply a stack of Radiation, if you each 10 stacks you will die. Drop the nuke to have the radiation decay. Defeat the Brig in the main room to remove the shielding from the buckets, allowing you to deposit the nuke.
Repeat this process two more times until three nuclear cores are deposited into the buckets. The last brig you fight is a huge, boss-type foe, so be prepared to use your Super and Heavy ammo on the final run.
The goal of the Integration and Nukes encounter is to collect nukes from rooms and deposit them into buckets. In order to find nukes, you must open and close doors using a Power Reserves charge, which are collected from Fallen terminals.
Each bucket will be labeled with a number, your job is to pick up a nuke and deposit it into the buckets in order. Move as a team through the hallways so you can swap the nuke between each other to avoid dying to the Radiation debuff. Each time you deposit a nuke, a Captain will spawn that will drop the next nuke you need.
While this is happening, Raneiks Unified will be stalking the halls, dropping smaller servitors, and performing the Integration wipe. This move connects a beam to all players that it can see, to avoid getting wiped, simply break the line-of-sight by moving behind a wall, around a corner, etc.
When enough nukes are deposited, the encounter will end and you can move on to the first boss fight against Raneiks Unified.
The goal of the Raneiks Unified boss fight is to activate four panels corresponding with highlighted servitors. This will cause the boss to unify in the starting room, beginning a damage phase.
Take note of the nine panels that are wrapped around the wall near the rally flag point. You will need to shoot four correct panels in order to begin the damage phase. The encounter starts once you approach the center of the room. Defeat enemies, being sure to leave the Operator buff in a terminal (you only need it in this room). When the Machine Priest spawns, defeating it will cause the Servitor’s Fall effect to begin, teleporting you to the upper level.
On the upper level, defeat all of the Shanks to cause a Viral Suppressor Client Shank to spawn. Defeat it and collect the Suppressor buff it drops. Use the Grenade ability near Raneiks Unified to spawn a decoy clone, destroy the clone to shattered Raneiks into its constituent Servitors.
The Servitors are labeled numerically, find the two that have extra lights glowing on their face and make note of their names (Raneiks-1, Raneiks-2, etc). Retreat through the tunnels to the main room and repeat the process to get another two Servitor numbers. With four numbers acquired, pick up the Operator buff in the starting room and shoot the correct panels to start the damage phase.
A Suppressor Shank will spawn in the center of the room, defeat it, grab the buff, and use it when Raneiks Unified appears to split it into the smaller Servitors. You will only have 25 seconds to damage the boss. The timer starts as soon as the Suppressor Shank appears. Repeat the entire process as many times as necessary until Raneiks Unified is defeated.
As for DPS for the first boss in Vesper’s Host, players are seeing tremendous success with Solar Titans running Consecration, Warlocks using Song of Flame to proc Ignitions, as well as Parasite, Dragon’s Breath, and other weapons that deal big, quick damage. Remember to stack your buffs and debuffs, like Weapon Surge mods, Tractor Cannon, and weapon perks.
The Corrupted Puppeteer fight is about activating panels, defeating Broken Puppets, and depositing nukes. You will need to utilize all three buffs in this fight while avoiding Radiation stacks and lightning damage during the boss fight.
Defeat enemies and collect the Suppressor buff. Use this near the Broken Puppets and kill the decoy to remove the Radiation field and the enemy’s immunity shield. Defeat the Broken Puppets to summon an enemy that drops the Scanner buff. Defeat another two Broken Puppets to spawn an enemy that has the Operator buff.
The Scanner needs to scan the four panels on the four pillars in the center of the room. Only one will have the correct panel. The Operator must shoot the panel and then note the number on the pillar that’s written in blue – find this blue number on the other panels around the room and shoot them. When all the correct panels are activated, you can drop down to the lower area by heading to the side with the flashing red lights.
Head through the hallways to reach another room with buff terminals and more panels on the walls. The Operator must activate all the panels in the room. Copies of the boss will then appear in the room. The Scanner must approach the copies and, like finding panels, assess which one must be destroyed. Approach a Broken Puppet, if it turns white on your radar, destroy it. Grab the nuke it drops and place it into the bucket in the lower area of the room. Move through the hallways to the other room and repeat the process. When two nukes are deposited, the boss’ immunity shield will be removed.
Return to the main room and use the elevator to reach the boss arena. At this point, you can begin the damage phase against the boss. It will start on the center platform before shifting to the side sections. Look for the Broken Puppet that spawns that is slightly different, defeating it will drop a nuke, which you can deposit into the bucket in the left bunker when the boss goes immune – this will remove its shield and give you more DPS time.
As for ideal DPS against the last boss in Vesper’s Host, as with the other boss, Solar Titans with Consecration can knock the Broken Puppets down quickly. Stacking Lost Signal and Anarchy on the boss will give you additional damage procs along with any Scorch stacks and Solar Ignitions you can manage. To that end, Edge Transit god rolls will still cook the boss and other traditional DPS options like Grand Overture.
Once the final boss of the Vesper’s Host dungeon is defeated, make sure you loot the chest to claim your rewards. There will be more to do in Vesper’s Host, including getting its associated Title, so keep an eye on our Destiny 2 Strategy Guide for more help.
