Destiny 2: Season of the Witch focuses squarely on Eris Morn, known Hive expert, and the super angry sister of Savathun, Xivu Arath. Each week, a new entry in The Bladed Path questline will unlock, tasking players to engage with the seasonal activities and work through new content. Below is a breakdown of each week’s quest and the steps to complete them.
Before you can get into the meat of the Bladed Path weekly quest, you will need to complete an introductory questline called Toil and Trouble. You will automatically be launched the mission, Way of the Witch, at the start of the season but it can also be started via the map of the H.E.L.M.
The Way of the Witch mission has you defeating Hive in Savathun’s Throne World. Fight along the bridge, destroy the crystals, and head up the elevator to the final arena. Here you must carry Solar crystals and deposit them. They’ll damage you over time so be quick about it. Melee the Arc crystal and then the other four to charge them up and summon the boss.
After completing the Way of the Witch and Savathun’s Spire, return to the H.E.L.M. and pass through the portal. Interact with the swirling presence in the middle of the runes to summon Eris, who will explain what to do. You will then need to interact with the two tables near the runes: Lectern of Divination and Ritual Table.
There are only a few steps for the first week of The Bladed Path. The longest part will be the mission, Invoke. Go to each arena, defeat the enemies, and tithe to Eris!
The second week of The Bladed Path has players traipsing across the Throne World and searching Lost Sectors for Hive runes. Some players may run into trouble on The Bladed Path Step 9, which requires players to find Hive runes in a Lost Sector.
The attunement step of the quest simply requires you to visit the Ritual Table in the Athenaeum and pick an element. You will only be able to pick one, but you will eventually have all three elemental types unlocked. After this step, the Lost Sector you need to attune the element in may be different. Refer to our Savathun’s Throne World Lost Sectors section for help finding them.
In the Metamorphosis Lost Sector, there are five runes in the first room with enemies:
There’s not a lot to Week 3 of the Bladed Path. The main element will be a unique mission called Conjure, which has you fighting Xivu Arath’s foes in the Altars of Summoning solo.
This week you get to choose another element to attune. You’ll eventually get all three, so leave whichever one you like least to last. Whichever element you choose will be the one you need to use for Step 23 in Savathun’s Throne World.
For Step 24, you’ll need to go into the Sepulcher Lost Sector and find five Hive runes. These are all Void and are located in the large chamber with the Ogre and the Lightbearer Wizard. You must activate all five within 20 seconds using Void damage:
Week 5 of The Bladed Path includes players’ first look at the Imbaru Engine, an M.C. Escher-like room full of traps and fake chests.
For Step 33, you’ll need to reveal the Minor Arcana card as well as pick it up – this means selecting it twice. If you don’t actually collect it, the Imbaru Engine activity will not appear in the H.E.L.M. and you will not be able to move onto Step 34.
The Imbaru Engine is a treasure hunt room. You’ll need to find chests that have the X Hive rune pointing at it. Unlocking the other chest will kill you. Equip a Cache Finder mod on your Ghost to make it easier to find the chests. The Hive runes will be on a circle disc with a pointy side literally pointing at the chest it belongs to.
This week’s Bladed Path story mission has you unlocking the final element attunement at Eris’ Ritual Table and then using that element to get kills. For the Hive Ghosts, the best place to farm them is in Miasma at the entrance to the Vow of the Disciple raid. Finally, there's also five more Hive runes to find in the Extraction Lost Sector.
The five Hive runes in the Extraction Lost Sector are found in the boss room at the end:
The final week of The Bladed Path sees you complete Savathun’s Spire one last time and then a final wrap-up mission called Sunder. This mission is launched via the map of the H.E.L.M. and is found above the Altars of Summoning and The Imbaru Engine nodes.
