Diablo 4 Update 1.0.4 patch notes

Another week has brought another patch for Diablo 4 as Blizzard Entertainment makes way for the first Season of the Malignant later this July. The patch notes are out and share details on a number of fixes, making damage boosts work where they are supposed to and squashing progress-stopping bugs in many instances. However, there was an issue caused by Diablo 4 Update 1.0.4 that may also bring about another hotfix later today. Nonetheless, we have the initial patch notes here.

Diablo 4's Uber Unique items have been disabled after they were appearing far too frequently in Helltide Chests following Update 1.0.4's launch. A hotfix is coming soon.

Blizzard Entertainment released Diablo 4 Update 1.0.4 and its accompanying patch notes on July 6, 2023. This one included a long list of bug and issue fixes that should make the game more enjoyable. A bug where Cheat Death would not save you if you were on a mount has been squashed, traversal during The Blind Eye is also fixed to keep it from blocking progress, and the Necromancer’s Shadow Mages should now get extra shadow damage from the Shadowblight Key Passive.

However, it’s also worth noting that Blizzard had to make an emergency move to turn off appearances of Uber Uniques in the game because they were appearing too frequently in Helltide Chests. The devs released a statement on the matter and will be putting out a hotfix sometime today. The rest of Diablo 4 Update 1.0.4’s patch notes are as follows:
