Grinding Gear Games has been teasing its Path of Exile fans with a looming sequel in development for quite a long time. At Summer Game Fest 2023, we finally got another taste of what’s coming. Grinding Gear showed off a new trailer for the game and teased more of what players can expect from the sequel. Perhaps just as importantly, Grinding Gear teased that a bigger reveal is coming at the end of July.
The new trailer for Path of Exile 2 was shown off during the events of Summer Game Fest 2023 on June 8, 2023. In the trailer, we got to see a new look at combat in the game. A sorceress in a dark lair fights off hordes of zombie-like creatures with the power of lightning magic, hitting chain lighting, lightning strikes, and some kind of area-of-effect spell. Then, a giant creature breaks through a wall, looking like the start of a boss fight. You can see the new trailer below.
After the reveal of the gameplay, Grinding Gear Games went to share that we can expect a bigger reveal in July. Specifically, it would seem that we can expect a showcase or reveal related to Path of Exile 2 coming on July 28, 2023.
Path of Exile 2 has been in development for quite a few years now, having been officially unveiled in 2019. We’ve been waiting quite a while to learn more about it, but Grinding Gear has also been working on other things like the mobile version of Path of Exile. Nonetheless, the developers also promised that Path of Exile 2 will be playable at ExileCon this year. In fact, that would likely coincide with the reveal that the developer has planned in July because ExileCon usually happens in late July or early August.
Nonetheless, Grinding Gear Games promises to reveal more information about Path of Exile 2 soon. Stay tuned for more updates and reveals as they drop, right here at Shacknews.
