Wednesday's Apple special event continued with the latest on Apple AirPods. There's a new line of the Apple AirPods Pro on the way. While it will sport the same design as the previous AirPods Pro models, this latest iteration will run on the H2 chip.
The second generation of the AirPods Pro will feature a wireless lossless codec for better noise cancellation, which will be powered by the H2 chip. The H2 chip will also allow for some additional features, like more advanced audio processing, Active Noise Cancellation, and a new Adaptive Transparency mode that will reduce sudden loud noises at 48,000 times per second. However, the most interesting addition looks to be touch control integration, which has been implemented into the device's stems and allows for users to control volume with a simple swipe.
The AirPods Pro will sport an improved 6-hour battery life. Those using the Charging Case can listen for up to 30 hours. Speaking of the Charging Case, it has been redesigned to include the U1 chip, which can be used to track it in case it's ever lost. Plus, it can be charged by using a Lightning cable or a Qi-certified charger.
These are certainly some noteworthy additions to what's been a fairly static product and Apple has managed to do so without changing the core design. The new 2nd generation AirPods Pro will sell for $249 USD. They'll be available on Friday, September 23. Pre-orders will open up on the Apple Store this Friday.
