One of the world's most popular anime franchises is coming to PlayStation. Wednesday's State of Play presentation saw a new trailer for a new anime fighter, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R. For those who have followed the anime's long-running story, brace yourselves because it looks like everybody is here!
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R is being developed by the anime adaptation specialist at CyberConnect2, which most recently put together Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles. This fighting game will feature a massive roster of 50 characters, all from different story arcs and all with their original Japanese voice actors. This includes Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne Cujoh, and everybody's favorite scumbag, Dio. Plus, they'll all be drawn out to resemble the original art style of series creator Hirohiko Araki.
Expect to see a revamped fighting system that allows for new combos, as well as mechanics like hit stops and a Support Attack tag system. The game will feature five different gameplay modes, including an All-Star Battle Mode that will take players on a whirlwind tour throughout the JoJo-verse. While the game is promising a robust single-player element, All Star Battle R will also support local and online multiplayer, as well as ample opportunity to find collectible skins from throughout JoJo's entire run on the anime airwaves.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R is coming early fall 2022 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, which should give you plenty of time to catch up on every episode of the anime in preparation. Plus, according to the Bandai Namco website, the game will also do battle on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. We have a lot more to recap from Wednesday's presentation, so be sure to check our State of Play topic for the latest updates.
