Here are all of the actors that appear in The Last of Us on HBO, separated by the season they first appear in.
Joel Miller is portrayed by Pedro Pascal. One of the two main characters, Joel is the lead of The Last of Us and is one of the first characters players meet in the original game. Pascal is known for his work in Game of Thrones and more recently, The Mandalorian.
The role of Ellie is played by Bella Ramsey. Ellie is one of the most iconic video game characters of the modern era, making this a major role for the young actor. Ramsey made a name for herself following her performance as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones.
Tommy Miller is played by Gabriel Luna. Tommy is Joel’s younger brother and plays a key role in the source material. Luna made a huge splash on the big screen in 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate.
The character of Marlene is portrayed by Merle Dandridge, who actually voiced the character in 2013's The Last of Us. Marlene is the head of the Fireflies, a group prominently featured in the video game. Dandridge has a rich history of acting both on-screen and in a recording booth, so it makes sense for her to bring the character to life in the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us.
Nico Parker takes on the role of Sarah, Joel’s daughter, in the TV adaptation of The Last of Us. Nico Parker is the daughter of actress Thandie Newton and appeared in Tim Burton’s Dumbo in 2019.
Anna Torv portrays Tess. In The Last of Us, Tess is the smuggling partner of Joel Miller. As for Anna Torv, her recent work includes the role of psychology professor Wendy Carr in Mindhunter. Fans will also recognize her as Olivia Dunham from Fringe.
Nick Offerman plays the role of Bill, a character that Joel and Ellie meet during their journey together, in HBO's The Last of Us series. Offerman is most known for playing Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation.
Euphoria and A Wrinkle in Time actor Storm Reid portrays Riley, a character introduced in The Last of Us' Left Behind DLC.
Kaitlyn Dever plays Abby, a central character in the storyline of The Last of Us Part 2, which is the primary source material for the second season of the show. Kaitlyn Dever has starred in films including Booksmart and No One Will Save You.
Dina is played by Isabela Merced. She's a close ally of Ellie's and is featured prominently in the source material. Isabela Merced starred in Dora and the Lost City of Gold as well as Madame Web.
Jeffrey Wright plays Isaac, a character he also voiced in the video game. This makes him the second TLOU voice actor to reprise their role for the TV show, alongside Merle Dandridge. Jeffrey Wright most recently starred in the Oscar-nominated American Fiction.
Jesse is played by Young Mazino. Jesse is another ally of Ellie's that we meet in The Last of Us Part 2. Mazino previously appeared in the hit Netflix series Beef.
Spencer Lord plays Owen, a close ally of Abby's. Lord recently had roles in Riverdale and The Good Doctor.
Manny is played by Danny Ramirez. Another member of Abby's inner circle, Manny is one of several new characters in The Last of Us Part 2.
Ariela Barer plays Mel, another supporting character in The Last of Us Part 2. You may recognize Barer as Gert Yorkes from Runaways,
Nora is played by Tati Gabrielle. Gabrielle recently appeared in the film adaptation of another PlayStation Studios property, Uncharted.
Cathera O'Hara joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 2 in an unknown role. She most recently won awards for her role in Schitt's Creek.
