The Witcher took the world by storm when it premiered on Netflix, casting Henry Cavill as the main character. It was a hit—and deservedly so—though it has left many clambering to find out when The Witcher Season 2 release date is.
The Witcher Season 2 releases on Netflix on December 17, 2021. This was officially announced during WitcherCon 2021 by creatives behind the show.
Lauren S. Hissrich, the showrunner for The Witcher on Netflix had previously shared that the second season would be coming in 2021 during an AMA on Reddit.
“We don’t yet have a target launch date for Season 2, past 2021,” Hissrich said in the AMA. This has led many to believe that the show will probably come out in the latter half of the year.
According to TechRadar, a special effects company called Platige Image is set to complete work on the eight episodes for season 2 by July 2021. The company’s work on season 1 was originally due in November 2019, with the show launching worldwide in December. This lines up with the second season once again launching in December.
