We already knew about The Summit, a new 100-floor challenge mode coming to The Division 2’s Warlords of New York content pack. Now, though, we finally have a release date, and users can expect to dive into the new content on September 22, 2020.
As part of Title Update 11, The Summit will give players 100 floors of enemies to go through as they fight their way to the top. Playable for both solo and squad players, The Summit takes Division Agents to a high-rise building, where they’ll take on new challenges on each floor, earning rewards and Rally Points (a permanent checkpoint) as they progress. You’ll also be able to choose specific sections of The Summit to focus on, allowing you to play at your preferred difficulty level.
September 22 also marks the arrival of a new manhunt in The Division 2 Warlords of New York. Players will be able to track down Bardon Schaeffer, the elusive leader of the Black Tusk as he recruits four disavowed agents into a brand-new and dangerous rogue cell. There’s a ton of new gear and other rewards on the line, giving players new ways to progress and power up their Division Agents.
According to a press release about the upcoming content, players will be able to pick up new Appearance Mods, allowing you to customize the look of gear beyond the normal dye and coloring options. An improved “Rainbow” loot system will bring an update to how gear assigns the first attributes on a gear piece, giving you a percentage chance to roll the same as your core attributes. This means that items for skill brands will have more of a likelihood to roll a skill-related attribute, making it more useful in the long run.
Ubisoft also revealed that The Division 2 will be backwards compatible on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5. Furthermore, the game will also support cross-play with next-gen consoles, allowing Xbox and PlayStation users to play with other Agents within their desired console family.
