Fans looking forward to the next Dragon Age game from BioWare were treated to some concept art at Gamescom Opening Night Live, as well as a trailer featuring developers talking about the direction they're taking the series in its next iteration.
Discussion of the game itself remained incredibly vague, which shouldn't be too surprising for a title that is not expected to hit store shelves for another few years. There had been speculation earlier this year that gamers would get their first glimpse at the project back at the EA Play Live 2020 event earlier this summer, but the faint amount of info revealed in the Gamescom trailer reveals that there really wasn't anything to show at the time. Still, optimism among die-hard Dragon Age fans remains even after a promising outing from the last entry in the series, Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Time will tell if the team at Bioware is building towards a magnificent return to form. The studio is certainly still reeling from the disastrous launch of Anthem last year and likely cannot afford another such blunder. Keep it tuned to Shacknews for the latest updates on the Dragon Age franchise and Bioware as they are made available.
