Forza Motorsport is making its way to the next generation with the eighth entry in the main Forza series. Announced during today’s Xbox Games Showcase, Forza Motorsport will take full advantage of the Xbox Series X hardware to deliver a beautiful racing experience for players to jump into. There’s no official release date on the new Forza just yet, but Xbox players can rest easy knowing that it is on the way.
Developed by Turn 10 Studios, Forza Motorsport is supposed to offer 4K gameplay at 60 FPS, as well as more realistic ray-tracing lighting. Of course, the game is still very early in development, and it’s unclear if it will act as a reboot of the series (just keeping the basic Forza Motorsport name) or become Forza Motorsport 8 further down the line.
No matter how you feel about the Xbox, it’s an exciting time for racing fans. With Sony announcing the return of Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 5, the next generation of gaming is going to give players quite a few options to choose from. Of course, like most first-party games, Forza Motorsport will also release on Windows 10 alongside the Xbox Series X version. At this time, no Xbox One version has been mentioned, and since we’re early in development, it could release at a time when an Xbox One version isn’t really needed.
Forza Motorsport will also be available on Xbox Game Pass when it arrives, and no release date or window has been given at this time.
