With New World, Amazon Games promises to invite players into a vast world of mystery, adventure, and action on Aeternum, the Eternal Isle. The game is currently slated for late summer on August 25, but players who pre-order can get in on the action early. A closed beta has been announced for late July on the PC Gaming Show 2020, and will allow players to take part in a glimpse of New World’s experience, which boasts up to 100 player battles in its open world offering.
Amazon Games announced the closed beta for New World on the PC Gaming Show 2020 on June 13, 2020. If players pre-order New World on Steam, they will be able to get an early taste of the action with an invite to the closed beta starting on July 23, 2020. New World was meant to come out originally in May 2020, but as COVID-19 affected large swaths of the industry, Amazon Games decided to push it back to late Summer on August 25, 2020. Though that date is still a ways away, it seems Amazon is finally ready to let players see what they’ll experience in the game. You can get a look at the closed beta trailer for New World just below.
New World has some shoes to fill as the second of Amazon’s major efforts this year to enter the video game market. Crucible was quite fun if in the times we played in our preview, but a series of issues and critical player feedback have found the competitive game struggling out of the gate since its official launch. In our preview of New World on the other hand, we found it in need of some extra content to spice up its gameplay and exploration.
With the beta for New World coming in July for pre-order players, it will be interesting to see if New World is spruced up and ready to roll ahead of its August release.
