Fans of The Last of Us Part 2 got an eyeful of brand-new gameplay footage during today's The Last of Us Part 2 State of Play, and it looks like Ellie is on the warpath.
A new gameplay video saw Ellie swimming through murky swamp waters before popping out of the swamplike area to put the hurt on some unsuspecting enemies nearby. We can't wait to see what other environments there are to traverse beyond what was shown off today and in previous trailers.
She later surfaces in what looks like a treatment plant of some sort in a flooded area before creeping up behind a girl resting on top of a box. Ellie press a knife to her throat before slicing it clean following a grapple for survival. She ends up letting the girl sink to her death as she bleeds out following the scuffle. It's a shame, because the girl was playing Hotline Miami on her PS Vita before Ellie popped out and ended her life. She probably never got to see the end of it, and Hotline Miami is an excellent game.
In another area outside, Ellie is seen performing another stealth kill before entering an area where she puts an arsenal of weapons to good use, including a rifle as well as her bow and arrow. Later, Ellie is seen putting some acrobatics to use as she meets up with an unknown female character with her hair in a ponytail. The pair engage in an uneasy standoff as Ellie keeps the girl at gunpoint before the logo fades in.
It looks like Ellie will be upping her body count significantly in this new adventure, though there's still a lot we don't know about the game thus far. This new State of Play presentation certainly gave us some curious stuff to go on, though.
You'll be able to get your hands on The Last of Us Part 2 when it debuts on PlayStation 4 on June 19.
