Rumour of some sort of announcement regarding Square's Final Fantasy series emerged on the Web in the run-up to Christmas 2000, and heavy talk has surfaced in the past week of a fourth installment of Quake ready to rear its head for the machine. Both were expected to be announced at CES, but no new exclusive franchises were confirmed.

I asked id about this and they said that nothing has been announced so of course that leaves nothing to talk about. In addition its pretty well known that most of the id team is now working on DOOM. So if something like this did come to light, I imagine it would be a port and not Quake4.
