At today’s Made by Google 2019 event, Google had a lot to say about the Pixel 4 phone. Among all the new features and sells was the announcement that Google had expanded its carrier partnerships, making the phone available to every major carrier in the U.S.
There’s no denying that the Pixel series of phones have a lot of fans, and the Pixel 4 is likely to be the most popular yet. Some of this will be due to new features and capabilities, like the Pixel 4 voice recorder with live transcription, but some of that will be due to availability.
While dropping information on the Pixel 4 today, Google announced that every major U.S. carrier would be home to the Pixel 4, which is an expansion of their previous coverage. This means that people who are tied to a particular cellular phone company don’t have to switch providers to get the Pixel 4, which should mean the phone finds its way into the hands of far more users than ever before. Truthfully, expanded coverage is far more exciting than all the bells and whistles that come with a new phone, even if the Pixel 4 camera does sound nifty. When consumers have more options, it only pushes the competition between companies further, resulting in better products and prices for consumers in the long run.
