There is a total of 14 rare spawn hunt locations available for players to find and kill in Borderlands 3. While you could technically go an entire play session without ever seeing any of these spawns, the Borderlands Anniversary Celebration event has upped the spawns for a week, from October 8 – October 15, which means you’ll see an increased chance for these enemies to spawn. Whether you’re looking to nab them during this time or not, we’ve broken down each location below.
To find Rakkman, players will need to head to the Carnivora area on Pandora. This particular region opens up after you infiltrate Carnivora and it takes off through the desert. If you head to the lower corner of this region, you’ll find a large computer in an alcove. This is where you can find Rakkman, one of the many rare spawn hunts available in Borderlands 3. For additional information, check out our guide on how to find Rakkman. This enemy also has a chance to drop the Night Flyer Legendary Pistol.
The next enemy on our list is El Dragon Jr. While we’ve already broken down how to find El Dragon Jr, if you aren’t looking for in-depth details, then all you need to do is head to the Jakobs Estate on Eden-6 and search for El Dragon Jr near the Eridium Writing in the small area right past the fast travel point. Killing this enemy grants a chance to acquire the Unleash the Dragon Legendary Artifact. Only findable in Mayhem Mode/True Vault hunter Mode.
The next enemy on our list can be found in The Anvil while visiting Eden-6. While making your way through this region, look for an offshoot of the map that leads down into a sewer area. When you enter this area and follow it all the way to the back, you’ll have a chance to spawn in the Mother of Grogans. Killing the Mother of Grogans grants a chance to acquire any Legendary Artifacts. Need more in-depth assistance? Our guide on how to find the Mother of Grogans can help! Only findable in Mayhem Mode/True Vault hunter Mode.
Next up on our list is Road Dog. This Overwatch inspired enemy can be found over in the Splinterlands on Pandora. Once you arrive in the Splinterlands, make your way to the small plateau area in the middle of the region. Here you’ll find a bandit camp where this big guy can spawn in. Killing Road Dog grants a chance to acquire the Redline Legendary Shotgun. Check out our guide on how to find Road Dog for more help.
This enemy is a humongous t-rex that can be found in the Floodmoor Basin on Eden-6. It’s impossible to miss if this enemy spawns, as you’ll have a massive dinosaur running right for your face. This enemy can most easily be found in the vehicle-friendly area of Floodmoor Basin, which is a huge open area. Killing the IndoTyrant grants a chance to acquire a random Customization option.
If players want to find this particular rare spawn, they’re going to need to make their way to Atlas HQ on Promethea. From the Atlas HQ fast travel point (near the Meridian Metroplex entrance), head into Atlas HQ and look out for one of the upper hallways just south of the fast travel point. This is where the Force Troopers can spawn. Killing this enemy will have the change to reward you with various Legendary Class Mods.
To find this enemy, make your way to The Droughts – Highway fast travel station in The Droughts on Pandora. Grab a vehicle and then head southwest, following the map down through the narrow canyon to another open area. From here, follow the western wall up to a small alcove in the map, with a circle in the middle of the available path. Here you’ll be able to find the Demoskaggon. Defeating this enemy will reward you with random Legendary Shields.
This rare spawn enemy can be found on Eden-6. This time, however, you’re going to make your way to the Ambermire. Start out at the Rogue’s Hollow fast travel point and then head through the exit that leads to the west. Once you can, turn southbound and continue into the large open area here. There’s a vendor machine in this area. When you spot it, continue past it to enter a small encampment where this enemy can spawn. Killing this enemy will grant you a chance to pick up the Band of Sytorak Legendary Shield.
This duo of rare spawns can be found on Pandora, so players will want to make their way to Konrad’s Hold. From the fast travel point, continue through the area until you reach the room that has three additional offshoots (the very middle northernmost area on the map). Here you’ll find these two enemies waiting. Killing them will give you a chance to acquire the It’s Piss Legendary Grenade Mod.
To find this enemy, players are going to need to make their way to the Voracious Canopy on Eden-6. Once here, make your way all the way south to the final portion of this map. Here you’ll find several various corridors and areas you can explore. Maxitrillion is a rare spawn that can appear in the rooms in this area. Killing Maxitrillion has a change to grant you the Legendary Shotgun, The Horizon.
This Psycho Easter Egg can be found by visiting the Meridian Outskirts on Promethea. Players will want to make their way to the same spot where they had to complete the Maliwannabees quest earlier in the Borderlands 3 campaign. Here you’ll have a chance to find Borman Nates waiting up top. Kill this enemy for a chance to grab the Psycho Stabber Legendary Pistol.
The next enemy on our list can be found in the Splinterlands on Pandora. Spawn in at the Chop Shop fast travel point and then head into the large open area to the northeast. Here you should be able to find Princess Tarantella II’s spawn location. Once the enemy spawns, kill it for a chance to pick up the Hive Legendary Rocket Launcher.
The penultimate enemy on our list can be found in the Ambermire on Eden-6. From Rogue’s Hollow, head northeast out of the area. Continue moving this same direction, following the map, until you reach a spot where the left-handed side of the area curves around. Just before you reach this area, search a little alcove in the area to find the Red Jabber’s spawn location. Killing the Red Jabber grants a chance to acquire a random Legendary Grenade mod.
The final rare spawn hunt on our list, Urist McEnforcer, can be found in Lectra City on Promethea. Players will recognize this as the place they have to go to take on Killavolt, one of the many bosses you’ll face off against in Borderlands 3’s campaign. From the Lectra City fast travel point, head through the area in a southwesterly direction. To find Urist McEnforcer, look for the area where the western portion of the map curves down (near the center of the region). There’s a large middle section here where this enemy spawn location can be found. Search for and find Urist McEnforcer here for a chance to obtain the Masterwork Crossbow Legendary Sniper Rifle.
