Hasbro asked if the world wanted a massive Transformers War for Cybertron Unicron figure, and the world responded in turn: over 8,000 backers decided they were all in.
The campaign is closed now, and over 8,000 backers (and huge Transformers fans) ensured the huge new toy will be brought to life. It's going to be huge (literally) if you like Transformers or Unicron, that's for sure.
Unicron will come with interchangeable chins, a Galvatron slug figure, and over 27 inches of height wither 50 points of articulation. If that's not menacing enough for you, it can turn into a planet mode that will span 30 inches in diameter. Planet mode will include Unicron's planet-eating jaws, which can open up a lengthy amount for Unicron to gobble up worlds whole. It will also include planetary rings that you can pose at your leisure.
According to Hasbro, this will be the most accurate Unicron figure the team has ever created, so if you're a fan of the Chaos Bringer, this figure was literally built for you. You can check out all the finer points about Unicron and all the work that went into bringing it to life over at the official Hasbro blog, which has detailed the process in its entirety.
The finished product can even grasp things with its hands if you so choose. He also costed $575 each for all 8,000 of the backers who decided bringing the figure to life was worth what many people might pay for all of or at least half of their rent. There's a limit of 5 per customer, but I.hope no one actually bought that many.
What will the HasLab crowdfunding platform come up with next? We'll have to wait and see.
