A lot of players are starting to find small rice cakes in Destiny 2. This is immediately followed by the question, “What do I do with the small rice cake?” Players are used to unlocking guns and armor, so dealing with food doesn’t exactly come naturally. If you’ve been playing since Forsaken and have a keen eye, you might have already figured it out – but for the rest of us, here’s what they’re for.
The small rice cake in Destiny 2 is a little treat you give to the Jade Rabbit statues hidden around the Moon. There are several of these statues to find, much the same as the cats in the Dreaming City. And, much like the cats, the Jade Rabbits will give you a reward for your effort. Check out our guide on all Jade Rabbit locations as they can be quite difficult to find.

Hand over a small rice cake and you’ll receive some Phantasmal Fragments in return and possibly other things too. These Phantasmal Fragments can be used at the Lectern of Enchantment to create special armor.
This is one of a few ways to get some of these special resources. What’s more, if the Jade Rabbits are anything like the cat statues, you’ll probably receive an emblem for feeding them all. The trouble now is actually finding them and getting more small rice cakes.
Chances are you can only get a small rice cake once a week. This was the case with the offering for the cats that smelled faintly of mint. Expect to take several weeks before you can get give the rice to each statue. If you do not have a small rice cake, the statue will simply read “You lack something.”
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep adds a whole lot of mysteries for players to solve, and the latest is the small rice cake. But now that you know you must give these rice cakes to the Jade Rabbits, you can start going about your other business, like checking out the Shacknews Destiny 2 guide page!
