- Counter-Strike has taken over the world, and v1.0 was released
- WindowsME was released by Microsoft, they try to deny it now but its out there. Oh, and MS was ordered to break up.
- America had some 'issues' trying to pick out a president. That wasnt embarrassing!
- Napster goes to court and is there all year now, as the legality of MP3 music of retail CDs is questioned.
- On that note, the phrase TRIBES2 screenshots released on the net surpassed the # of MP3s available.
- Team Fortress2 didnt come out, and neither did Duke4Ever. Surprised?
- Shugashack for some reason actually hit 100,000,000. Amazing.
- Monolith released a top notch game using LithTech, also Amazing!

- Videocards: NVidia GeForce2, ATI Radeon, and 3dfx Voodoo5 were all announced & released.
- Pictures: We had pictures of chicks, plastic cowboy hats, and a huge archive of IOTDs.
Lastly, we had 16 scares of possible mass human destruction this year 22 announcements of GONE GOLD! for games (and once for b00bies), I think we're in the clear now, although my getting engaged and Daikatana being released is kind of a sign of the apocolypse to come isnt it?
I'm sure I missed a few glaringly obvious stories, feel free to berate me in the comments and I'll add a few later today. Here is a listing of the top 250 stories of the year.
