How to get into Kanalet Castle

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on Nintendo Switch is one of the most exciting remakes we’ve had in a while and there is a ton to do in this reimagined version of the original classic. While progressing through the various dungeons, players will find themselves tasked with getting into Kanalet Castle, a mighty fortress with locked gates. In this guide we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get into Kanalet Castle.

How to get into Kanalet Castle - Link's Awakening

In order to gain access to Kanalet Castle, players are going to need to find some fruit for Kiki the Monkey, who can be found outside of the castle, just to the right of the gates. Kiki asks for some fruit, which means Link is going to need to find something to satiate the friendly monkey’s hunger. Luckily, we know just the place to get our hands on some bananas.

After giving Kiki the Monkey the banana, several monkeys will build this bridge, allowing you to enter Kanalet Castle.

To get the bananas, you’re going to need to complete a series of step that requires you to obtain various items from NPCs by giving them other items. This entire process starts over in Mabe Village, by heading to the Trendy Games hut.

In Trendy Games, go ahead and take part in the game and pick up the Yoshi Doll. It might take a few tries to win it so bring along plenty of Rupees.
Upon picking up the Yoshi Doll, head out of Trendy Games and north to the house with the two doors. Inside here, speak with the woman holding the baby and trade her the Yoshi Doll for a Ribbon.
With the Ribbon in hand, head to Madam MeowMeow’s house and speak to her. She mentions visiting her doghouse with a Ribbon. Head into the doghouse next door and trade the Ribbon for Dog Food.
Now that you have the Dog Food, make your way down to Sale’s Banana Shop in Toronbo Shores. Trade the Dog Food for a Banana.

Once you have the banana, head back up to Kanalet Castle and speak with Kiki the Monkey once more. Trade Kiki the banana and several other monkeys will arrive and build you a bridge into the castle.
