Ghost Recon Breakpoint is nearly here, and players that know they’re going to buy are running out of time to figure out which edition is right for them. Thankfully, this Ghost Recon Breakpoint pre-order breakdown will help determine which edition is for you, and what benefits come with each. That is, if you're the pre-ordering type.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers four different editions for gamers to choose from, including the Standard Edition, Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Wolves Collector’s Edition. Which edition you choose to buy will depend on how big a fan you are, what perks you desire, and how soon you want to play. The table below, which is also availble on the Uplay Store, shows what each edition contains.
Benefit | Wolves Collector's Edition | Ultimate Edition | Gold Edition | Standard Edition |
Sentinel Corp Pack | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Base Game | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Early Access | Yes | Yes | Yes | |
Year 1 Pass | Yes | Yes | Yes | |
Ultimate Pack | Yes | Yes | ||
Collector's Bundle | Yes | Yes |
As you can see, three of the four editions come with a signifcant amount of benefit, but what do they all mean?
The Sentinel Corp Pack includes the Sentinel MK.2 Heavy Outfit, Valor Assault Rifle, and Hammer MK.2 Vehicle. This package comes with every edition of the game so long as you pre-order it, which could be a deal breaker for some.
One would think this is mandatory, but it's not. Not all editions of all games actually include the game. However, all editions of Ghost Recon Breakpoint include the base game, so you can rest easy knowing you at least get to play whatever it is you buy.
For those that order the Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Wolves Collector's Edition, you can start playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint on October 1, 2019. This is three days earlier than the official release date of October 4, 2019.
The Year 1 Pass for Ghost Recon Breakpoint includes the Special Operations Forces pack, Siren's Call mission, Deep State adventure, Transcendence adventure, and early access to three classes to be released throughout the first year. This is only inluced in the Ultimate Edition and Wolves Collector's Edition, but you can also buy the Year 1 pass separately after release, one would assume.
The Ultimate Pack includes the Survivor Pack, Sacred Land Pack, Off-Road Pack. Not much is known about each, but the Sacred Land Pack looks to contain a weapon and knife, while the Off-Road Pack includes a bunch of vehicles.
This is only available through the Wolves Collector's Edition and contains a bunch of physical goodies including Ubicollectibles figurine - Cole D. Walker (24cm high), Exclusive Steelbook, Walker's Dog Tag, Waterproof map, Confidential file with three litographs, Selected game soundtrack, and the Premium collector's box.
Personally, as someone who doesn't care much for the collectible items but loves to have all the fake digital things as soon as possible, I'd be going Ultimate Edition, but that's just me. If you're not concerned with the extras or early access, consider not pre-ordering any edition and waiting to see how the game plays before your buy. If you know you're all in, though, figure out what works best for you and get after it in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
