Planet Zoo trailer prepares for next week's pre-order beta

After helping players put together their ideal theme park, the time is approaching for Frontier Developments to help players build their perfect zoo. But before Planet Zoo releases to the masses, the developer is ready to open the gates to the game's pre-order beta. To remind fans that the beta is just around the corner, Frontier released a new trailer on Wednesday.

The Planet Zoo beta will offer the first scenario from the game's Career Mode, as well as one biome (the Savannah biome) from the game's Franchise Mode. For the first Career Mode scenario, players are introduced to the basics of zoo management and will have a handful of animals to work with. You'll need to raise them, contain them, and also make sure to stimulate them using a variety of enrichment tools. Frontier is noting that some of the animals on display here will be ones that have not yet been revealed. As for Franchise mode, beta users will be introduced to the Planet Zoo Animal Exchange, where players can exchange animals in an effort to increase genetic diversity.

Players can also share in-game habitat blueprints using the Steam Workshop, though Frontier is not guaranteeing that those blueprints will make it to launch, given how much in the game could change between the beta and the final release date. If you want a full list of what will be available to play during the beta, be sure to visit Steam for more information.

The Planet Zoo beta is set to run from September 24-October 8 and will only be open to those who have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition on Steam. Those who would rather wait for the final version to come out can pick up Planet Zoo on PC when it releases on November 5.
