Capcom debuted the first "real" trailer for Project Resistance, or what might eventually be revealed as another entry in the Resident Evil Outbreak series. We aren't sure yet, but the first footage certainly does look interesting.
The official Resident Evil Twitter account debuted the short trailer ahead of this week's Tokyo Game Show, calling Project Resistance a "brand-new team-based survival horror experience." What it resembles is a four-player co-op game with online multiplayer where participants play against a strange-looking man that resembles the classic Mr. X from Resident Evil. No word on whether that's him or not, but it certainly could be.
It appears this could end up being the final title, but Capcom has yet to officially confirm that fact based on the brief trailer if Project Resistance might change in the future. If it doesn't adopt the Resident Evil moniker, that would certainly be interesting.
More information is likely on the way later this week by Tokyo Game Show 2019. Shacknews will be bringing you all the latest on everything Capcom (and all the other goodies on offer at the show) soon enough.
We'll let you know more about this exciting development for Resident Evil fans as soon as there's more to tell you – and it could be a while, or it could not. Either way, it certainly doesn't look like it's Resident Evil 8.
