If you’ve been holding out hope for a new Plants vs Zombies game, then Battle for Neighborville is probably high on your list of anticipated games right now. Launching in early access earlier today, the game takes all of the best parts of Garden Warfare 2 and expands upon PopCap’s hit franchise to give players even more to do. We caught up with a couple of the people working on the game during this year’s Gamescom event to talk about the new weekly events, new characters, and even their plans for the future.
While speaking with Rob Davidson, the Game Director on Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, we learned quite a bit about several of the new characters making their appearance in the new game. The game’s Live Services Producer, Shaun Laker also joined us for our chat, helping to round out all the info we were learning about. According to Davidson and Laker, Battle for Neighborville is meant to expand quite a bit upon the basics that the developers learned in 2014’s Garden Warfare, and even what they learned in 2016’s Garden Warfare 2.
You can check out the full interview via the embed that we’ve included above. Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is out in early access on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One right now, so make sure you check it out if you’re a fan of the PopCap franchise. If you aren’t interested in playing in early access, then PvZ: Battle for Neighborville will fully release next month on October 18 on all three platforms we listed above.
