Microsoft and The Coalition have been hard at work on Gears 5 for two years now and the home stretch is finally here. Those who have been waiting for the game with bated breath will finally get their mitts on it soon. The official unlock times for Gears 5 have been announced by Microsoft and we have all of them here so you can be sure you’re ready to roll the moment the game is available.
The next Gears game is set to release for Standard edition buyers on September 10. Those who opt to buy the Ultimate Edition will get early access to the game on September 5 as a bonus. Game Pass subscribers will also be able to play on September 5 as the subscription includes access to the Ultimate Edition of Gears 5. Figuring out when you can play early is simple, as Microsoft has chosen to have a rolling launch that occurs at the same time in each market.
Launch times are the same for both the Xbox One and PC versions of the game. Gears 5 also supports cross-play between the console and PC, so there should be plenty of action to be had once the game unlocks in your region.
Preloading for Gears 5 has already begun! Ultimate Edition owners can begin preloading the game now from the Xbox One marketplace or from the Windows Store and Steam on PC. The download is just over 60GB in size. There is also an optional Ultra-HD texture pack available on the PC version that must be downloaded separately from the main game. It is also available from the Windows Store and Steam store pages for Gears 5.
