With so many games getting ported and released on the Nintendo Switch, it’s a surprise that a Star Wars title hasn’t found its way to the hot console/handheld hybrid. This will soon be changed when Star Wars Pinball launches later this month. We got an exclusive look at some gameplay, along with new details on what players can expect from this pinball game set in a galaxy far, far, away.
In the interview below, Zen studios walks us through the games key features, and what it does to marry traditional pinball with the iconic world of Star Wars. One of these features is the constant struggle between the light and dark side of the force. Good vs evil is at the core of the Star Wars saga, and the team behind Star Wars pinball decided to directly tie it into gameplay. At the main menu, players can select which side of the force they want to support. From there, all of their actions across the game will contribute to their designated side. This meter is community based and will constantly change to reflect which side is receiving more support.
Pinball on its own creates a pretty fun and satisfying gameplay loop. However, when it comes to video game adaptations, you may need more content and substance to hold player interest. Star Wars Pinball looks to tackle this with career mode. This mode hosts 100 challenges, each with their own specific rules and stipulations. The developers told us these levels are designed to improve the players pinball skills.
