Xbox Game Pass continues to grow with new games being added seemingly every other week as of late, and if Microsoft has anything to say about it, it'll eventually get even bigger.
The Game Pass made the jump to PC this year, but according to Xbox's head of gaming services Ben Decker, the company wants it to get even bigger.
"You know, we would like to see Game Pass on all platforms ultimately and I think that is a long-term goal," Decker said. "We don't have any specific plans today, but we would love to see Game Pass really go everywhere," he explained in an interview with GameReactor. This would mean a future with Game Pass potentially on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 – potentially even mobile devices, if we understand Decker correctly.
This is all just conjecture for now, but it would certainly be interesting to be able to play some of our favorite Xbox titles anywhere, not just on their corresponding console. This might also mean it could be achieved with Project xCloud or some sort of streaming service further down the line.
Right now, it's too early to tell how it could be achieved, but it's exciting to think you might be able to gain access to such a wide catalogue of games on Xbox One across several different devices, regardless of what you own. These notions definitely make the future of gaming (regardless of platform) seem like a much more intriguing proposition for anyone looking to own one system and stick with it, which could very well be how things shake out going forward.
