Ready to deploy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this October? You can do it today, ahead of schedule. Originally planned to launch August 23 (tomorrow), the free 2v2 Gunfight Mode is available for PS4 owners right now, ahead of schedule.

You can jump in right now and take part in the free Alpha (no PS Plus required), which includes five close-quarters maps and two never-before-played locations including Docks and Speedball. All you need to do is log on to the PlayStation Network, search for the Alpha via the demos section, and start playing.

You can play on King, Stack, Pine, Speedball, and Docks. It begins with just three: Pine, King, and Docks, and two added this weekend: Speedball and Stack. Infinity Ward will add additional variations of game modes into Gunfight over the weekend as well, with new surprises being folded in as well. Infinity Ward plans to use the weekend to test server scaling with Gunfight as well as test out the balance and weapon system.

There will also be an open beta taking place in September for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It'll begin September 12 on PlayStation 4 and will be exclusive there for the first weekend. The second weekend that runs through September 19 will be available across all platforms.

Are you ready to sink your teeth into the alpha now that it's available a day earlier? Let us know if you're planning on hopping in this weekend and we might see you on the battlefield.
