Quicksilver is a premium currency that players can earn while playing No Man’s Sky. While many games offer a way to purchase Quicksilver outright for real world money, No Man’s Sky does not include any type of microtransactions to help you get ahead of the curve. Instead, you’ll need to learn how to get Quicksilver in No Man’s Sky the old-fashioned way. Here’s what you should know.
Unlike many premium currencies out there or even Nanites—the other “premium” currency in No Man’s Sky—Quicksilver is something that can only be obtained during special events within the No Man’s Sky universe. Originally introduced last year, Quicksilver allowed users to purchase Exotic gear from a special vendor in The Space Anomaly, which has seen quite a few upgrades with the Beyond update.
Of course, while many that took a break from the game are probably scrambling to figure out how to get Quicksilver now, we have a bit of bad news. There is currently no active event in which players can earn Quicksilver while playing No Man’s Sky. This is an unfortunate thing at the moment, as there are quite a few items on offer in the Quicksilver vendor that players would probably want to get their hands on, most notably a few Exotic decorations, and even some customization items.
While you can’t earn Quicksilver right now, we’ll hopefully see a new event coming up in the future that will once more allow players to stock up on the premium currency. Since the vendor is still available in the game, and the currency still appears in your Traveller information while looking through shops, it stands to reason that a new community event will come at some point down the line. For now, though, players are stuck earning more Units and saving up their Nanites.
