Download and keep For Honor free from Uplay this week

We here at Shacknews like a good deal on games, and it's hard to beat a free giveaway. The folks at Ubisoft are running a limited-time promotion right now that allows players to download and play For Honor Standard Edition entirely for free. best of all, once downloaded, the game is yours to keep forevermore.

The only catch, if it can even be considered one, is that For Honor is only being given away for free through Uplay. To get the game, users will have to have an active Uplay account. For Ubisoft fans, this may be a given, but for the rest of us, it mainly entail signing up with an email address and dodging a few email advertisements.

Still, it's a hell of a giveaway, especially for action fans. For Honor has continued to be updated throughout its life, with newer content such as the heroes Vortiger, Sakura, and Hulda, along with a new map for each, having released as free DLC in this year alone.

For those keeping tabs at home, this isn't the first time that For Honor has been given away for free. The game was previously offered as a free download through the Epic Games Store just earlier this month, and was offered free of cost to PS Plus subscribers in February of this year.

If you've missed those previous windows, now is a great time to pick up and play For Honor. The Standard Edition will be free through August 29, and as long as fans get their download in before the window closes, it'll be theirs to keep.
