Farming XP in Remnant: From the Ashes is a viable strategy, especially if you get stuck. Every trait, or skill point, requires XP, so getting more experience quickly is going to be key to overcoming some of the game’s more challenging bosses. Whether you’re playing alone or co-op with some friends, there are a few things you can do to get more XP and level up.
Every enemy or quest you complete in Remnant: From the Ashes rewards you with XP. Earn enough XP and you will receive a point to spend on a trait. Upgrading traits is going to be essential if you want to be able to survive in the later areas of the game.
For this reason, you want to get as much XP as possible. As mentioned above, XP is awarded for completing quests and killing enemies. To exploit this, you could rest at crystals to cause enemies to respawn, giving you another chance to earn more XP. Furthermore, there is a trait you can unlock called Elder Knowledge. This trait increases how much XP you get from killing enemies, so putting a few points into it is a good idea.
Another way to get more XP is to play co-op with friends. The reason for this is a trait called Teamwork. This trait comes in to effect when you are close enough to a teammate. You will get increased damage resistance, XP gains, and mod power generation. Stray too far from an ally and this trait will deactivate, but this range can be upgraded.
But the whole point of getting XP is to get more points to spend on traits. For this reason, you should try to look for Tomes of Knowledge. These books glow purple and when picked up, reward you with a single point. This bypasses the need to accumulate a level’s worth of experience.
Tomes of Knowledge spawn randomly in the worlds, and there will typically be at least one more level. Search every corner so you don’t miss any. In fact, it’s also worth searching around Ward 13, as you might find one – plus you’ll be able to unlock the SMG.
Getting more XP is important if you want to get more trait points in Remnant. While grinding levels solo is one way, playing with friends is the best method. Be sure to check out the Shacknews Remnant: From the Ashes page for even more guides and tips.
