At today's Inside Xbox live stream from Gamescom 2019, John Romero and Brenda Romero from Romero Games took the stage to talk about Empire of Sin, focusing on its Prohibition-era setting and how some of the in-game characters are based on real people.
Empire of Sin may not be releasing until Spring 2020, but consider me fully intrigued about this Prohibition-era game from Romero Games. Aside from very cool visuals that catch your eye the second you see any gameplay, there's something about a well-done mobster game that just speaks to me. Of course, we have no idea if it's going to be a good game just yet, but the potential seems to be there, especially after hearing John Romero and Brenda Romera talk about it at the Inside Xbox stream from Gamescom 2019.
Aside from John Romero's great grandmother being in the game, players should recognize some of the other characters since at least a few are based on real people. If that catches your eye, you can learn more about it from the Empire of Sin website, and you can check out our video game release dates 2019 guide to find out exactly when it comes out the moment it's announced.
