The Night Ops Camo and Sports Blue Xbox Wireless controllers are two new additions to Xbox’s variety of game accessories. Personalizing your gaming peripherals is just as important as having the right equipment, and Xbox fully realizes this.
Revealed during the Inside Xbox live stream at Gamescom 2019, both of these controllers are special editions featuring unique designs. The Night Ops Camo brings the camouflage into your gaming space. The D-pad is a metallic gold for that added grit, and the triggers have extra etching for greater grip control.
If a camo-themed controller isn’t enough, Xbox is also running a line of clothing to match this new accessory. Xbox has teamed up with Meta Threads to create a Night Ops Camo Label Tee, exclusive to the Xbox Gear Store. This is a 100% combed cotton tee shirt, pre-shrunk, featuring a woven Xbox label. It’s available in unisex and women’s styles, and will be on offer in the US and Canada.
For those that don’t want an invisible controller, there’s always the Sports Blue Special Edition Xbox controller. This controller is inspired by sports equipment and designs, featuring a vibrant blue finish. It joins two other controllers in the Sports line, the White and Red. Like the previous designs, Sports Blue also has some geometric shapes, a color-matched metallic D-pad, and rubberized grip for those sweaty FIFA matches.
Also on offer are two charging stands, a Night Ops Camo and Sports Blue version. These stands are made of the same material and are designed to pair with your chosen controller. Each stand comes with – you guessed it – a charging stand featuring a rechargeable battery, cover, and a 6-foot power cable.
Each of these controllers offers the 3.5mm audio jack and Bluetooth technology for pairing with Windows 10 PCs, which is helpful now that Xbox Game Pass has arrived on PC.
The Night Ops Camo controller will be available October 8 while the Sports Blue controller releases earlier on September 17. Both will be sold for $69.99 USD from select retailers and the Microsoft Store. For the latest news from Gamescom 2019, including more Inside Xbox details, you’re already in the right place.
