The quirky RAD is just about to debut next week, and there's a new launch trailer to go along with it.
RAD follows a teenage protagonist who's tasked with journeying into the Fallow, a weird and radioactive wasteland positively teeming with a bizarre spread of weird creatures. However, weird as it may be, it's here that you'll figure out how to heal the world and change it from a harsh, barren landscape into a steaming source of new life.
So it's all up to you (and your bat of course) as well as a litany of strange new abilities to fight off the creatures around you and seek out new abilities that transform you in crazy ways. You may become less than human, the developers warn, but you'll be all the more powerful for it. Check out how it all goes down in the launch trailer below.
Ozzie Mejia reviewed RAD at Shacknews, awarding it an 8 out of 10. Here are his thoughts on the matter:
"RAD has a lot to offer, even to those who don't necessarily dig the roguelike genre. The 80s references are going to appeal to every adult of that generation, the world is a beautifully-imagined hellscape, and the controls are refreshingly easy to grasp. The latter certainly isn't perfect, as it'd be nice to be able to switch between items instead of having to drop one before picking something else up and using it. But for beginners, RAD is refreshingly simple to pick up and play."
Sound like a world you want to jump into? You can play RAD on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 20.
