Looking forward to a new Need for Speed game? You'll get your wish soon enough, as Electronic Arts has launched a new teaser website counting down to an announcement.
The countdown is set to end on August 14 at 10 AM ET, which will then likely reveal either a title or some sort of information about the pending new entry in the seminal racing series. Previously, EA confirmed that a new title would indeed be coming out this year in a blog post on an official EA page for Need for Speed.
"Are you going to hear more about the next NFS title? Yes. Is it being released this year? Yes. Will we be doing anything in June? No. It’s as simple as that, but we wanted to give you a heads up before you started asking “where are you?” Our goal is to deliver a truly memorable high-speed entry into the 25 years of NFS, rather than a series of promotional events. The game matters most – a sentiment we bet you share with us," the post read.
"With that, know that we’re here, we’re building an amazing game that we can’t wait to show off, and the next time we talk, we’ll be packing our bags and heading south for the full unveiling. We’ll see you then."
There aren't any details floating around about what we can expect from the game, but this new game will follow Ghost Games' Need for Speed Payback, which debuted in 2017.
We're looking forward to seeing what comes of this announcement, and we'll make sure you know exactly what to expect too. Be sure to tune into Shacknews for more info the day of the reveal. What could the series be racing toward next?
