Following an incredible Grand Finals matchup that saw Goichi "GO1" Kushida avenge his EVO 2018 finals loss to Dominique "SonicFox" McLean, it was time to find out what's next for Dragon Ball FighterZ. And what's next is coming sooner than people may be expecting.
Dragon Ball Z fans saw a familiar face in the next FighterZ DLC character, Janemba. He was the main villain in Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn and showing up just as he did in that movie, starting off as a yellow monster and transforming into Super Janemba, a powerful human-like warrior. He bops his opponents around with his giant tail and performs combos with the aid of portals, stretchy limbs, and other various violations of the space-time continuum. Janemba will be available next week, as he hits Dragon Ball FighterZ on August 8.
He will later be joined by Gogeta [SSGSS], who was briefly teased at the end of the trailer. Gogeta, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, also appeared in Fusion Reborn... eventually. It took a while, but he eventually did appear and ultimately defeated Janemba in the movie. Here, Gogeta was shown launching Janemba in the air and prepping his Stardust Breaker attack.
There is no word on when Gogeta [SSGSS] will join the battle. Expect him to hit Dragon Ball FigheterZ later on this year. For more on Dragon Ball FighterZ, be sure to check out our Year 1 Retrospective with Tomoko Hiroki from earlier this year.
