Quite often you’ll find yourself watching a show and recognizing a voice without quite being able to put a face on the performance. If you’ve consumed just about any animated entertainment in the last decade, chances are you will be familiar with the work of Grey Griffin, one of the busiest performers in the voice acting industry. Working on shows like DC Super Hero Girls, The Adventures of Puss n’ Boots, Uncle Grandpa, and Curious George, Griffin’s voice is likely to pop up in just about anything. Her video game credentials include Destiny 2, Mortal Kombat X, Bayonetta 2, and Broken Age.
We got the opportunity to speak with Griffin while we roamed the halls of SDCC 2019 and she shared her thoughts on being a voice performer.
Griffin was on-hand at SDCC to help promote DC Comics’ Teen Titans Go! Vs Teen Titans feature-length movie. She is voicing the character of Mrs. Claus. Santa Claus is a recurring character in the animated series on which the movie is based.
Teen Titans first appeared on the scene back in 2003. A creation of Glen Murakami, the show aired on Cartoon Network and followed the exploits of a teenage superhero group. It was inspired by the DC Comics series of the same name. It ran for five seasons and received a TV movie that served as its finale. Teen Titans Go! first aired in 2013 as an indirect spinoff of the original series. It is lighter in tone than the first Teen Titans run and has lots of comedic themes. The new movie is expected to arrive on shelves by the end of 2019.
