It looks like Rocket League is officially headed to China.
After a long two years following Psyonix's announcement that it would be forming a partnership with Tencent in a bid to bring the zany sports game to the country, it looks like that's exactly what's happening.
The news broke by way of Niko Partners, which listed Rocket League as one of 24 recently-approved titles for China in addition to a variety of mobile games, a PC title, and a console game. This is obviously a huge accomplishment on both sides' part, and it's great news for gamers in China.
There's unfortunately no release date in store for when Chinese players can expect to be able to jump in-game, but hopefully it comes along soon so gamers in the country can join the rest of the world for some serious knock-down, drag-out ultimate car soccer fun.
Previously, Shacknews reviewed Rocket League, awarding it an 8 out of 10:
"As far as soccer games go, Rocket League stands out as a fantastic alternative to the more serious sports outings out there. The quickened pace and numerous customization options make this game a more intriguing and unconventional multiplayer option, but one that's definitely worth taking onto the pitch."
Hopefully this is the start of something great for Psyonix and its partnership with the country – as well as the games China ends up approving.
