Hideo Kojima's upcoming Death Stranding continues to baffle and amaze as additional clips debut here and there showing us what to expect from the game. Particularly, this brand new trailer showcasing the character Heartman is an intriguing addition to the information we already know about the game.

This clip was initially shown off during San Diego Comic-Con 2019, where Kojima discussed Death Stranding and various other topics with director Nicolas Winding Refn himself, who appears in Death Stranding as Heartman.

The 2.5-minute clip officially made its way online, showing off Heartman and his unique plight. He's shown conversing with Norman Reedus's character Sam Porter Bridges after he comes back to life by way of an automatic defibrillator. Heartman's heart stops ever 21 minutes. When it's stopped, he travels to the "world of the dead" and can spend three minutes there looking for his family. He then returns to life once more, waiting 21 minutes before he can die and enter that world again.

This happens about 60 times a day, but Heartman is unfettered. He collects entertainment that can be enjoyed in a 21-minute setting. Living like that must be painful, but it doesn't seem to have affected Heartman's demeanor. In fact, he views the living world as the "waiting period" so he can go back to the other side. It's story moments like this that make the game seem like such an interesting departure from the norm.

Death Stranding, which will feature a star-studded cast including the likes of Norman Reedus, Nicolas Winding Refn, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro and Troy Baker, is planned for impending release on November 8 for the PlayStation 4.
