The NHL 20 beta is now live on the PS4 and Xbox One for hockey fans that want to sneak in a little summer hockey. The beta is free for all players and will feature the brand-new Eliminator mode, World of Chel, and Online Versus.
To download the NHL 20 beta gamers must only head to either the PlayStation Store (PS4) or Microsoft Store (Xbox One). The beta is open to anyone and is free to install and play. The beta is live right now and it will run through July 31, 2019, giving you approximately six days (including today) to hop in and see what the fuss is all about. Just make sure that you have a persistent internet connection to take part. Full details can be found from the official EA news post.
Along with dropping the NHL 20 beta today, EA Canada also released a trailer called What’s New in Chel. It clocks in at 92 seconds and features gameplay, a bit of commentary, and just general hype to get you excited for some virtual puck. It even includes a very short scene where NHL 20 cover athlete Auston Matthews tries to squeeze onto a small couch with P.K. Subban and, judging by the crooked nose, Paul Bissonnette. Having seen him play NHL 18 and NHL 19 a few times, my money is on Matthews winning whatever is going on between the three of them, assuming they aren’t on the same team.
NHL 20 will be available on September 13, 2019. To keep tabs on that, along with other upcoming titles, be sure to visit our video game release dates 2019 guide.
