If you thought that Rocket League’s Radical Summer event was the best that Psyonix had to offer, then you thought wrong. The studio behind the competitive rocket car, soccer game has released more details about their upcoming fall 2019 roadmap, detailing the end of the latest competitive season, as well as some new audio changes that are inbound. We’ve detailed some of the big changes below, so let’s take a look.
First up on the list is the end of Competitive Season 11. The season is set to end on August 27, with Season 12 kicking off the same day after a quick title update. The next season’s rewards will be revealed by the developers a bit closer to the end of this current season. Like previous seasons, players will find rewards for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Champion, and Grand Champion ranks, as well as a unique Extra Mode Grand Champion ranks which are returning from past seasons.
Next up on the list are some new audio changes. The team already made a few audio updates with the last update, but this time they’ll be looking to change things up a bit more. High Dynamic Range Audio will be ready to release in the wild as part of the next big game update that will release the same day that Competitive Season 11 comes to an end.
The developers also have plans to bring in new stats called High Five and Low Five, and even a new stat for Hoops called “Swish”. Haunted Hallows will also return, as well as some new and improved tournaments. The roadmap also stated that previous features talked about in the last roadmap—like inventory management, the party-up system, and multiple quality of life improvements—are still in the works and the developers are hoping to have them out by the end of 2019.
