Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have revealed a particularly exciting aspect of the upcoming Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan.
As it turns out, the game will feature multiplayer modes, with both online and offline options. In Shared Story Mode, you can share the story with a friend in two-player online co-op while both players explore the world and make choices that will echo throughout the narrative.
At some points, you'll even explore scenes from a different perspective than the single-player version of the game either alone or with your co-op partner as you experience different scenes with new information, new locations, and of course scary bits as well.
Movie Night mode is an offline version of the game that you can play locally with a group of five players using one controller, with each player taking control of the movement, decisions, and controls of each of the five main characters. Players can either opt to save themselves or work to keep their friends alive, and at the end of each playthrough, the actions and decisions each player makes will culminate in various achievements and rewards for all.
What's interesting about this is the way it goes about presenting multiplayer options for both local and online players. It's pretty interesting for a horror game, and sounds like a total blast.
If you're a fan of games like Heavy Rain or Until Dawn, Supermassive Games' previous effort, you'll definitely want to give this a look. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is due out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as of August 30.
