Pokemon trainers, open those wallets. There's a new limited-edition Pokemon handheld coming soon, and you're definitely going to want to take a look at this one.
A new Pokemon-themed version of the newly-announced Nintendo Switch Lite is on its way this November alongside the debut of Switch exclusives Pokemon Sword and Shield. The system will be available ahead of the games, as it will come out on November 8, where the games are set to debut on November 15.
The Switch is emblazoned with both Zacian and Zamazenta, the Legendary Pokemon from each version of the game, as well as cyan and magenta buttons. It will, like the other models of the Nintendo Switch Lite, be available for $199.99, while supplies last.
"November is shaping up to be a big month for Pokémon fans, with the arrival of this special hardware followed by the launch of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games one week later,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “The Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition will be a great gift for Pokémon fans who want to play the latest games on the go.”
Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn't offered any information on where or when you can pre-order any of the Nintendo Switch Lite consoles, so hopefully this won't just be a situation where they appear in-store one day and they're bought up before anyone has a chance to make a move. The standard version of the Nintendo Switch Lite systems that come in yellow, gray, and turquoise will launch on September 20 for the same price – so you might want to nab one of those first if you're concerned the Pokemon versions will sell out, and they probably will.
