Published , by Kevin Tucker

Super Mario Maker 2 is all about course creation and the sharing of custom-made levels. As such, the game includes not only a way for players to search for custom-made levels, but also to follow the people who upload popular courses. Learning how to follow people in Super Mario Maker 2 is a breeze, so let's jump right into it how the system works.

Super Mario Maker 2 | How to follow people

To follow people in Super Mario Maker 2, players first need to head over to the game's Course World. This can be done from the game's title menu, or players can alternatively bring up the Main Menu by pressing the Plus button (+), then choosing Course World.

First, find the player's profile in Course World.

To follow a specific user within Course World, look for the button on the right with the magnifying glass icon. This is the Search area, and it may be familiar to players who have already researched how to search for custom-made levels. Enter the relevant Course or Maker ID, then press Plus to confirm.

Instead of searching for individual users, players can also select players simply by heading through the Courses menu. Either way, before they can follow another person, players must locate a Course or Maker ID for the player.

Next, select the Favorite button in the upper right hand side of the screen. Success!

With an overview of the course on screen, select the player's avatar and press it to be taken to the player's Super Mario Maker 2 page. It'll look like the screenshot above, with an image of their Mii and various bits of trivia. From here, look for the Star icon in the upper right. This is the favorite button, and it's the button that allows players to follow others.

Press the Star button for the game to confirm the player is now being Followed. After that's done, players can hit the Courses menu, then scroll over to the tab with the star icon to see all the levels uploaded by followed creators.

It's not hard to follow people in Super Mario Maker 2. Users only need to find the profile of other players they wish to follow, then hit the Follow button. From then on, all users from the followed player can be found in the Favorites section within Course World.
