San Diego Comic-Con is home to the biggest comic book franchises in all of nerddom. Having gone beyond the printed page over the past couple of decades, SDCC is also home to comic news in movies, television, and indeed, video games. While Marvel's set to take back its Hall H spot on Saturday night, the folks in their games division will congregate there a few days earlier to discuss what's next for Marvel Games.
The Marvel Games panel is set to unfold on Thursday, July 18 and discuss the upcoming superhero video game slate. This includes the Nintendo Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, the PlayStation VR title Marvel's Iron Man VR, and Square Enix's take on Marvel's Avengers. Here's the panel description, straight from the Marvel website:
Get an inside look at the latest and greatest from Marvel Games! Attendees will see exciting new content from MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order, Marvel's Iron Man VR, and Marvel's Avengers, with many unannounced special surprises and panel exclusives. Host Greg Miller (loudmouth at KindaFunny.com) will be joined by Bill Rosemann (VP & Creative Director, Marvel Games) and other special guests for the Marvel Games Family!
While Iron Man VR and Marvel's Avengers are a bit far away from their release date, it should be noted that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is set to arrive just hours after this panel on Friday, July 19. New content could include a first look at the latter game's Expansion Pass that was unveiled at E3 2019. The Expansion Pass is set to feature content from the Marvel Knights comic line, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. Given that X-Men characters are included on the MUA3 roster, it's expected that these contents will go beyond additional characters.
Shacknews will be on-hand at Comic-Con this year and we'll be around for whatever news emerges from this panel. Until then, stay tuned, True Believers.
