Just when you thought you might never see the tale of Clementine come to a close, whether you were waiting for the final episode of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series or trying to figure out a way to get all of the games together in one place after the massive delisting, Skybound Games comes to the rescue.
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series is coming to all platforms later this fall, according to Skybound Games. Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be available with both physical and digital editions of each.
The Definitive Edition will come packing all four seasons of the game in addition to The Walking Dead: Michonne and 400 Days as well as plenty of digital goodies. Skybound claims that the package will feature 50 hours of gameplay across 23 unique episodes and more than 10 hours of developer commentary. It's also packing character and concept art galleries, a music player with 140 tracks, and the "graphic black" content, which was only available in the past for The Final Season.
“Graphic black is a loving tribute to the source material and a powerful art style that makes the game look like a living comic book,” said Kent Mudle, creative director for The Walking Dead at Skybound Games. “An idea the team formulated and perfected with The Final Season, this new visual styling offers longtime fans a way to play the series again in a brand-new light while giving new audiences a smooth visual ride across all seasons.”
Our own Ozzie Mejia reviewed The Walking Dead: The Final Season and awarded it an 8 out of 10. Here's what he had to say about it in its entirety:
"The Walking Dead: The Final Season is a testament to what great writing talent can accomplish. Even with the game's increasingly archaic engine and an art style that isn't quite as unique as it used to be, The Final Season offers a story that ranks up there with the original first season. It is a marvelous piece of work and acts as a bookend to one of the best gaming sagas of the decade."
If you're interested in going on this emotional journey once more, you can look forward to picking it up when it debuts on September 10 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Clementine will remember this. Well, guess what. So will we.
