The E3 Coliseum panel with Todd Howard and Elon Musk offered a surprise announcement when the Director and Executive Producer of Bethesda revealed Fallout Shelter is coming to Tesla cars.
Fallout Shelter originally launched in June of 2015, and since then it’s made its way to a multitude of platforms including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, as well as mobile and PC. And now, Fallout Shelter is coming to the ultimate mobile device: Tesla vehicles.
Todd Howard dropped this announcement during the special live stream with Elon Musk and Geoff Keighly. There was little fanfare to be had and the moment was over faster than it started. But it seems as if players will be able to manage their end-of-days shelter from the comfort of their Tesla seats.
Elon was coy with stating whether or not you would be able to play it while the car was in motion. However, it’s no doubt responsible to keep your gaming sessions limited to when the vehicle is parked, that and it’s likely the legal option.
This isn’t the first game Tesla owners can play on their vehicle’s screen. The majority of the Atari line-up is available for play, which is apparently just the beginning.
While it has been known for a short while that Cuphead would be playable on the Tesla screen, a trailer was shown during the live stream of Studio MDHR’s brutally challenging platformer running on the vehicle. Players can get frustrated all over again as they fight through the hand-drawn world and listen to that sweet soundtrack.
It was certainly a unique experience having Todd Howard and Elon Musk together on stage. All manner of topics were discussed, from failures that led them to where they are, to the idea of living in a simulation, and even where gaming and AI are heading.
